Kerry Shaffer received her Bachelor of Music degree in Flute
Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Australia,
where she graduated with Honors in 1998.  She has performed with
orchestras in the U.S., Australia and Germany, and has received
numerous 1st Place awards in music competitions.  Being a private teacher
since 1992, her students have been award and scholarship winners.

Lessons are taught in an informal, exciting atmosphere, with emphasis on
the enjoyment of learning.

Dedicated students from beginner to University Prep level are welcome.

Music is about more than just playing the notes on the page, it's about
creating a story for each piece.  It's about using our sound, technique,
articulation, rhythm, etc., to promote the musical ideal.  And it's about
commitment and hard work.

Ms. Shaffer teaches the Art of Flute Playing and focuses on the
following areas:
 Tone production
     Ensemble playing
     Sight reading
     Musical styles
     Competition/recital preparation

Lessons may be scheduled weekday afternoons or evenings at the time
most convenient for both the teacher and student.  Please feel free to
contact me with any questions.
